Outdoordog.co.uk is run solely by outdoor staff. We love the great outdoors with our dogs and also have days on the UK mountains, rock and water without them (after we've exhausted them first!).  When all the hard work is done, we play hard.  We are studying for our ML - Mountain leader qualification, CWA - Climbing Wall Award qualification, and also have just gained an in-house Rockcity Instructors Award certificate (RIA) on the indoor rock climbing wall in Hull, East Yorkshire at Rock city, one of the UK's largest indoor climbing centres. I can personally take in 6 people and teach you rock climbing skills, and technique improvement after completing the British Mountaineering Councils (BMC) FUNdamentals 1 & 2 in coaching skills and RIA.

This is where we do all our practice for the outdoor rock and practice our instruction and bouldering skills. We already have our 1 star kayaking award, and many, many years of personal experience of white water kayaking, flat water kayaking, outdoor rock climbing in the peak district, mountain hiking in the remotes of Scotland, Lake District and Wales, in all four seasons. The aim of the game? to thoroughly enjoy the great outdoors, gaining more experience, and passing knowledge onto others with the same passions.

One of our great friends based in North Lincolnshire, with a lifetime of experience in Mountain leadership and rock climbing, starting in the RAF from a teenager, is Tony Clapham. An instructor of rock climbing indoor on the climbing walls in Hull at Rock city and instructing outdoor rock climbing (inc gritstone, sandstone and slate) all over the UK. He a keen Ice climber, often spending the winter months in the Fort William area, climbing to grade: IV 4*** Has rock climbed in Europe, notching up some very impressive leading grades. Tony is also extremely well travelled, and has mountain hiked all over the Himalayas (with some fantastic tales to tell).

Tony is now offering his skills also and amazing knowledge to groups and individuals, on a personally tailored basis. Whether you want 'one on one' tuition on learning outdoor rock climbing skills, with no experience, or just want to brush up on rope work and leader confidence. Or maybe have a group wanting to go out on the hills with the safety of a leader who can help brush up your navigation skills and take you 'off' track to see the non-tourist routes. Fully insured, kitted out with all latest equipment, SPA qualified, with experienced staff, Tony can be contacted here for a friendly chat to discuss your day out requirements or short break.

Hopefully by September 2012 we will have our new business launched with an amazing new website offering all outdoor advice, trips and groups for outings in the National Parks, mainly being the Peak District and Lake District. All will have dates available, a booking system and up to date information on everything you will need if you want a rock climbing experience, learn to lead climb, help with notching up some logs for your logbook rock climbing qualifications, a child's birthday party indoors, or even a place on our annual National 3 Peak Challenge. We aim to take all the stress of organising the trip yourself and simply read our information pages then click to book. Easy! We will do everything else for you, this way we can give you a fantastic day and experience to remember and throughly enjoy.

About me-

I have worked with dogs all my life and owned Alaskan Malamutes for nearly 12 years. I have many years of experience in animal handling and kennel management, working at some point in 3 North Lincolnshire kennels. I have studied animal care at Bishop Burton from 1995, gaining a First Diploma (FDAC) and National Certificate in (NCAC) animal care. Here I had my first experience with dog grooming and business management, where I opened a very success dog grooming studio in Barrow Upon Humber with my qualifications. I also work part time for Royal Mail, giving me a very varied day. Here I am charity co-ordinator, taking on many challenges throughout every year including the National 3 peak challenge, 76 miles sportives on road bikes through the Cumbrian mountains (Jennings River Ride) 40 miles charity road biking for big firms like Conoco and just completed my first Coast to Coast! I race my sled dogs throughout the winter season and will use any excuse to climb some rocks and mountains. I show my dogs all year round and assist them in gaining their American working dog titles to give them letters after their names to be fit for purpose in weight pull and back packing. I am on the Scunthorpe Trent dog all breeds society committee, assisting in the running of the dog show training and advice, I am also an assistant in Broughtons dog training and obedience club. I am studying for my (s)ML - Mountain Leadership Award, and getting ready for my SPA- Single pitch award for outside rocking climbing teaching and FUNdamentals in rock climbing learning coaching skills. In the mean time I have my degree, BSc (Honours) in Natural Science to work hard on being 3 years in. Its all go here at Outdoordog!!
